Report: Dippel Has Passed Drug Screen Following Arrest, Person Who Left Medication in Truck Comes Forward

The Tyler Dippel suspension has been a huge talking point since it was announced last week. Dippel, 19, was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance after prescription medicine was found inside a backpack inside his truck during a traffic stop.

The incident has been very tight-lipped from Dippel, Young’s Motorsports and NASCAR and information has been hard to come by from Orange County, NY.

A new report from DirtTrackDigest.com’s Jay Carpinello, has helped shed more light on what has happened with Dippel since the arrest in Wallkill, New York.

According to the report, Dippel was pulled over after leaving the Orange County Fairgrounds Speedway, where he had been racing the night before.

The report continues by saying that Dippel has passed a voluntary drug screen following the arrest, which proves he was indeed not taking the drugs in question.

In addition to the drug test news, the report also states that the person whom the medication was prescribed to has come forward and upon hearing of the news that Dippel was arrested has written a letter to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

In the alleged letter, the person admits that the backpack was placed in Dippel’s truck by them, and that nothing nefarious was going on at the hands of the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series competitor.

This report is a huge shot in the arm to Dippel and his budding racing career, as it looks like this entire ordeal may have been a true honest mistake. Dippel has a court date set for Wednesday, August 28th.

    1. Hey Nathan, due to HIPPA, that information can not be released legally unless the driver opts to come out and say it. At this point, it does not appear that it will be happening.
