NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series crew chief Eddie Troconis has been suspended indefinitely by NASCAR, the sanctioning body announced on Wednesday Evening.

Troconis, who was sitting on top of the pit box for Kris Wright’s No. 02 Young’s Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado at Talladega Superspeedway, was handed a behavioral violation for violating sections 12.8.1.c of the NASCAR Rule Book.

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rule Book – Section 12.8.1 Member Conduct Guidelines:

c. Member actions that could result in a loss of 25-50 driver and Team Owner Points and/or $12,500-$25,000 fine and/or one Race suspension, indefinite suspension, or termination:

  • Physical confrontation with a NASCAR Official, media members, fans, etc.
  • Member-to-Member confrontation(s) with physical violence and other violent manifestations such as significant threat(s) and/or abuse and/or endangerment.
  • Attempting to manipulate the outcome of the Race or championship.
  • Intentionally wrecking another vehicle, whether or not that vehicle is removed from Competition as a result.

NASCAR did not provide the specifics behind the violation but did confirm that it was not a competition or on-track-related incident.

In 2021, Troconis has served as a crew chief for both Young’s Motorsports and DGM Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, working with eight different drivers across the two series, primarily with Kris Wright and Josh Williams. The long-time crew chief is also the husband of NASCAR Truck Series driver and team owner Jennifer Jo Cobb.
