On Thursday, NASCAR issued its weekly penalty report. Chris Hacker was included in the report. NASCAR’s penalty report states that after violating section 4.4 D of the NASCAR rule book (being charged with or convicted of significant criminal violations), due to his arrest on charges of Driving While Impaired (DWI), Hacker has been indefinitely suspended.

Chris Hacker, a part-time driver in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series was arrested on Tuesday, August 15th at approximately 12:30 AM ET by the Huntersville Police Department.

According to public records, Hacker was charged with Driving While Impaired. The North Carolina Judicial Branch’s official website shows that Hacker has a court date scheduled for September 19th. According to the NCJB, in addition to the Driving While Impaired charge, Hacker also faces charges of Speeding, Reckless Driving to Endanger, and Failure to Wear Seat Belt.

Hacker also had his driver’s license revoked for 30 days, which is standard procedure for DWI arrests in North Carolina.

TobyChristie.com has made an attempt to obtain a comment from NASCAR on the arrest of Hacker. At the time of publishing, the sanctioning body has yet to respond, although the request came in the evening hours on Wednesday, August 16th. If a response is obtained, the answer will be included in this story.

The 23-year-old racer has made six starts combined between the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series so far this season with a best finish of 12th coming in the Truck Series event at North Wilkesboro Speedway back in May.

Hacker, an Indiana native, participated in this past weekend’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series TSport 200 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, a race that resulted in a 29th-place finish following an on-track incident.

Hacker has shared time in the Truck Series with Young’s Motorsports and On Point Motorsports this season.

The driver has recorded a best finish of 14th in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition this season. That run came at Richmond Raceway, while driving for RSS Racing.

Hacker, who has limited use of his left arm due to a Brachial Plexus Injury at birth, collaborated with his primary sponsor Morgan & Morgan to support the United Brachial Plexus Network. The driver and sponsor ran a fundraiser to fun a mini-camp for 41 children with BPI and their families in Indiana.
