Stage 1, check. Stage 2, check. Winning the race, check.

Martin Truex Jr., who isn’t known as a dirt track racer, made things look easy in Monday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Pinty’s Dirt Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

“Yeah, it’s unbelievable, really,” Truex stated. “I guess they had to put dirt on Bristol to get me back to victory lane here. It’s been a long time. That was a blast. I’m still really surprised. I wanted to run this race so I could get some more experience for the Cup car and man, we got out there in practice and it felt really good.”

Truex led a grand total of 105 laps in the 150 lap event, and in taking the checkered flag he took his first-career win in NCWTS competition.

Ben Rhodes, who has two wins already this season, finished second. Raphael Lessard finished third in GMS Racing’s No. 24 entry and Todd Gilliland finished an impressive fourth in the No. 38 Front Row Motorsports Ford F-150.

Chase Briscoe took home the fifth-place finish.

Grant Enfinger, Zane Smith, Parker Kligerman, Austin Hill and Austin Wayne Self rounded out the top-10 finishers in the race.

This event was a wild one, which featured 14 cautions, including four multi-truck crashes.

The Series point leader, John Hunter Nemechek was wiped out in Stage 2 in a crash with Derek Kraus.
