Niece Motorsports has parted ways with driver Kaden Honeycutt, effective immediately.

Honeycutt has spent the opening 16 races of the season driving the No. 45 Chevrolet Silverado RST for the organization, but just before the second-to-last event of the regular season, he finds himself without a seat, despite being a near-lock for a Playoff berth.

Connor Zilisch will drive the No. 45 DQS Solutions & Staffing Chevrolet Silverado in Friday’s Mission 176 at Watkins Glen International. Bayley Currey will take over driving duties of the entry for the final eight races of the season, starting at Richmond.

In a statement released on Monday, Niece Motorsports says: “[Kaden] Honeycutt has signed a contract to race with a different Truck Series organization and OEM in 2026 — making this change allows our team the opportunity to begin building for next year.”

To remain eligible for the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs, Honeycutt will need to start the final two events of the regular season. At this time, it’s unclear where the Willow Park, Texas-native will run for the next two weeks.

Heading to Watkins Glen, Honeycutt sits sixth in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point standings with a 73-point advantage over the cutline.

In a statement posted to social media on Monday, Honeycutt said: “I would like to thank Niece Motorsports, specifically Al Niece, Cody Efaw, and Phil Gould, as well as Josh Morris with DQS and Jason Wilson with Precision Vehicle Logistics, for the opportunity to drive the No. 45 Chevrolet in 2025.”

“My plan is to continue to contend for race wins and position myself to make the playoffs this season. I look forward to sharing my plans for the remainder of 2025 and beyond in the near future.”
