Jake Garcia Secures Second Career Truck Series Pole at Kansas

Jake Garcia, the youngest of the four full-time drivers at ThorSport Racing, has seemingly found his groove in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2025, winning the pole for Saturday’s Heart of Health Care 200 at Kansas Speedway.

Garcia, piloting the No. 13 Quanta Services Ford F-150, posted a lap time of 30.742 seconds (175.655mph) to secure his second career pole, both of which have come in the last three weeks.

The Monroe, Georgia-native has been making strides towards his first career victory in the NASCAR Truck Series, earning a pair of top-five and five top-10 finishes throughout the first eight events of 2025.

It’s been a fantastic season when it comes to time trials for Garcia, as well, have only qualified worse than sixth-place in two events this season — an eighth-place start at Martinsville, and a 20th at Homestead.

“This is a really good truck; it’s been good for us every time I’ve raced it this year,” Garcia said. “I’m excited for tonight’s race, I wasn’t really quite happy with our truck in practice; I feel like we still got some work to do. Every week we’ve had practice, our Quanta Services group has made really good adjustments between practice and the race to get us dialed in a little better.”

Corey Heim, a 14-time winner in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and the winner of the last two Truck Series events at Kansas Speedway, will roll from second place on Saturday.

Ty Majeski will start from third, with NASCAR Cup Series driver Carson Hocevar in fourth, and two-time series champion Ben Rhodes rounding out the top five.

Rajah Caruth will roll from the outside of the third row, in sixth, while Kaden Honeycutt, — who paced practice for the NASCAR Truck Series — Dawson Sutton, Tanner Gray, and Giovanni Ruggiero will complete the top-10.

William Byron, driving the No. 07 Chevrolet for Spire Motorsports this weekend at Kansas, will start outside the top-10, in 11th.

Other notables include Tyler Ankrum (12th), Chandler Smith (13th), Grant Enfinger (15th), Layne Riggs (16th), Stewart Friesen (19th), Connor Mosack (20th), Daniel Hemric (22nd), Brandon Jones (24th), and Matt Crafton (25th).

With only 31 drivers entered in Saturday’s Heart of Health Care 200 at Kansas Speedway, everybody, all the way down to Morgen Baird in 31st-place, will take the green flag.

The Heart of Health Care 200 will take place on Saturday, May 10 at 7:30 PM ET on FS1, MRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
