It’s been a busy few days for the NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series team Young’s Motorsports. On Monday, it was announced that Spencer Boyd would join the organization to drive the No. 20 truck in 2019. Wednesday, the team’s second truck seat was filled as well.
In an announcement at the NASCAR Hall of Fame it was disclosed that up-and-coming driver Gus Dean will drive full-time for the team in the No. 12 Chevrolet Silverado.
“I have known Gus Dean for a long time,” said team principal Tyler Young. “We were fellow competitors in the CARS Pro Cup division and I know his passion to succeed is something that fits well within our organization.”
In the announcement, it was revealed that LG Air Conditioning Technologied will be providing primary sponsorship for at least eight races. The company will be an associate sponsor for the remaining 23 races.
“LG Air Conditioning Technologies is excited to sponsor Gus Dean and the Young’s Motorsports team during the 2019 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series with Baker Distributing,” said Kevin McNamara, senior vice president and general manager, Air Conditioning Technologies, LG Electronics USA. “We wish the team the best of luck and look forward to a successful racing season.”

Baker Distributing, who have been partners of the South Carolina product, for years will also provide sponsorship for 2019.
“This is an unbelievable opportunity,” Dean said. “I’m psyched and very honored to represent LG Air Conditioning Technologies and Young’s Motorsports in my move to the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series. Without them and the longtime support of Baker Distributing – my dream to be a full-time NASCAR driver would not be possible.”
Jeff Stankiewicz, who was the ARCA championship winning crew chief with driver Sheldon Creed last season, will move to the Truck Series to turn the wrenches on the No. 12 truck.
Dean, 24, has competed full-time in the ARCA Racing Series for the past two seasons. In 2017 Dean finished fourth in the overall ARCA championship standings. Last season, Dean captured his second-career win and wound up sixth in the standings.
