The complete 2027 NASCAR FedEx Freight Truck Series full-time driver lineup for TRICON Garage has been revealed. Dawson Sutton and Sammy Smith were revealed as the latest two drivers for the organization at a press conference at Talladega Superspeedway on Friday.

Sutton, 20, who drove the No. 26 Rackley W.A.R. Chevrolet Silverado this season, will pilot the No. 5 Toyota Tundra for TRICON next season. Smith, 22, who drove the No. 8 JR Motorsports Chevrolet in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series this year, will pilot the No. 15 Toyota Tundra in 2027.

“We are excited to welcome Dawson and Sammy to the TRICON family for 2027 and are confident they’ll be great additions for our program,” said Kevin Ray, Partner and General Manager of TRICON Garage. “Sammy’s experience and prior success, combined with Dawson’s ability and growth as a driver, give us a lot to look forward to. We are confident in the lineup we have assembled and look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together.”

Sutton and Smith will join Kaden Honeycutt and Gio Ruggiero, who were previously announced to full-time driver contract extensions with TRICON Garage in 2027. TRICON Garage also confirms that the team will field the No. 1 Toyota next season, and that truck will once again serve as the “All-Star” truck that will feature a rotating cast of characters behind the wheel.

In the press conference, TRICON Garage did confirm that Tanner Gray, the current driver of the team’s No. 15 Toyota, will not return to the organization next season.

Following the announcement from TRICON Garage, Rackley W.A.R., the team that Sutton currently drives for, revealed that Friday’s race at Talladega Superspeedway will serve as the final race for its NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series program.

“After six seasons of competing full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, we have made the difficult decision that tonight’s race at Talladega Superspeedway will mark the end of Rackley WAR’s NASCAR Truck Series program,” the team explained in a statement.

Rackley W.A.R. continued, “While this chapter of Rackley WAR in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is coming to a close, our commitment to the sport remains as strong as ever. We all remain hungry for wins in our national late model driver development team.”
