There were many drivers within a whisker of making something happen, but Friday night at Texas Motor Speedway, Corey Heim was not to be denied.

The Marietta, Georgia-native was able to capture his third NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victory of 2025 and the 14th win of his career, after defeating Daniel Hemric and Rajah Caruth in NASCAR Overtime.

Without the overtime finish and a sequence of four cautions in the final 26 laps of Friday’s event, the TRICON Garage driver would have been able to run away to an easy victory, holding the lead by 16-plus seconds after the cycle of green-flag pit stops.

But instead, Heim had to defend his victory against several challengers from behind in the pack, and while it always ended up working out in his favor, there were some close calls, including one that featured a three-wide race at the scoring loop when the caution was displayed.

The final restart was one of the toughest, after Heim and Ben Rhodes fought side-by-side throughout the first set of corners, and ultimately slid up the racetrack, allowing Daniel Hemric to get three-wide on the inside and take the lead momentarily.

Hemric, on old tires, quickly lost the race lead as Heim powered around the outside lane in his No. 11 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro, retaking the lead and cruising to the victory in the SpeedyCash.com 250.

“Man, I can’t believe how many restarts we got there in the end, but went into turn one pretty much in the worst possible position I could be in – three wide middle,” said Heim after the race. “I knew I was either going to win or wreck. I was willing to take that risk. We were really dominant in the race today, so I kind of laid it all out there. I knew the risk, but I wanted the reward.”

Heim led a race-high 96 of 174 laps en route to the victory, bringing his total to more than 400 laps led in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this season — which equals about one-third of all laps run in 2025.

After starting the race from second due to qualifying being canceled, Daniel Hemric managed to rebound from a difficult evening to finish in second, despite making a late run at the victory.

Rajah Caruth finished in third place, with Tyler Ankrum and Tanner Gray rounding out the top five. Ben Rhodes, Matt Crafton, Bayley Currey, Dawson Sutton, and Ty Majeski rounded out the top-10.

The race featured 11 cautions totaling 57 laps and took out a lot of drivers, including Gio Ruggiero, Kaden Honeycutt, and Layne Riggs with just 19 trucks finishing the event — the fewest on a non-superspeedway since this race in 2019.

Leaving Texas, Corey Heim leads the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series point standings by a whopping 46 points over Chandler Smith, who sits in second. Daniel Hemric, Tyler Ankrum, and Ty Majeski sit top-five in standings.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series heads to Kansas Speedway for its next event next weekend as the series joins the NASCAR Cup Series and ARCA Menards Series.
