It has been an up and down start to the racing season for Brennan Poole, but the most important factor is that he has been on the racetrack.

Poole joined The Drivers Meeting podcast this week to discuss a handful of topics, mostly regarding his racing schedule for the remainder of the 2022 season.

You may have noticed him a lot in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this year, and that will continue as he expects to compete in the majority of remaining series races for Mike Harmon Racing in the No. 47 car.

The 31-year-old also confirmed that he will be returning to On Point Motorsports in the Camping World Truck Series this season, driving the No. 31, a new second entry for the team.

His first race back with the program will come at Texas Motor Speedway on May 20th, a track he has had success on in the past.

“I’m still working with On Point Motorsports, so you’re probably going to see me run a second truck for them at Texas coming up, and probably a few more times throughout the year so I’m really excited about that.” Poole announced.

There’s always been a strong relationship between Poole and On Point Motorsports, one that began back in 2019, the year Brennan managed to grab four top-10’s and one top-5 in the No. 30 truck. That led them to re-unite for select races in 2020, and one race in 2021 at none other than Texas Motor Speedway, where he scored a 14th place finish.

“I know going into that race we’re going to have a change to run inside the top-10 and compete, so for me it’s good mentally and good to run up there with those guys. It’s a totally different race racing up at the front then when you’re racing at the back, so just to have that experience of being in that fight, it’s better for me to continue with my seat time,” Poole explained.

Seat time is the key thing for the young veteran when looking at any opportunity that is presented to him. Already piloting a car for MHR, a truck for G2G Racing, and soon a second truck for his former team On Point Motorsports, it’s set to be a busy year. But he’s all for it.

“It’s very important to be there,” said Poole. “Qualifying into a lot of these races with Mike I think has helped me get back some recognition. Even the stuff with G2G, just being in the truck and working with On Point Motorsports, really looking forward to that race in Texas coming up. It keeps you in those talks and you never know, opportunities come up and sometimes they go your way and sometimes they don’t, but at least you’re in the mix.”

Harmon’s team has had a handful of mechanical issues to start the year – whether in qualifying or in the race – but finally were able to collect their first finish of the season at Talladega last Saturday with Gray Gaulding. Momentum will hopefully continue this weekend as Poole hops back into the seat at Dover, and more than likely the rest of the year depending on sponsorship implications.

Will this year be the resurgence of Brennan Poole? We” have to just wait and find out. But things are looking up as he continues to get opportunities week after week, something he has not seen the last few years.
