B.J. McLeod, a veteran of NASCAR’s National Series, is set to join Spire Motorsports for a one-off drive in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the organization announced on Friday.

A long-time competitor in both the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series, McLeod will get behind the wheel of the No. 07 Pigeon Forge Racing Coaster Chevrolet Silverado RST for the North Carolina Education Lottery 200.

“Getting to race again in the NASCAR Truck Series with an incredible team is an honor,” said McLeod. “It’s a perfect partnership with Pigeon Forge Racing Coaster – speed, adrenaline, and pure excitement – both on the track and in the mountains. We’re ready to put on a show for the fans and make this ride one to remember.”

The 134-lap contest at Charlotte Motor Speedway will mark the first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series start for McLeod in four years, when he ran a two-race stint for Reaume Brothers Racing during the early portion of the 2021 season.

McLeod is the co-owner and primary driver for Live Fast Motorsports, a NASCAR Cup Series team that fields the No. 78 Chevrolet on a part-time basis. At NASCAR’s top level, the Wauchula, Florida-native has a pair of top-10 finishes, both at Daytona International Speedway.

With more than 100 victories in Super Late Models across the United States and a deep resume in stock car racing, McLeod made his debut in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2010.

Since then, McLeod has amassed 359 starts in NASCAR’s National Series, frequently competing in the Cup and Xfinity Series for a self-owned operation, while also making sporadic Truck Series starts throughout his career.

Outside of his NASCAR endeavors, McLeod is currently developing a new motorsports-themed attraction in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The Pigeon Forge Racing Coaster, set to open later this year, is the ultimate adventure for thrill seekers looking to experience an adrenaline-pumping ride like no other.

The North Carolina Education Lottery 200 from Charlotte Motor Speedway will be broadcast on Friday, May 23rd at 8:00 PM ET. Coverage of the event will be on FOX Sports 1, NASCAR Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
