FORT WORTH, Texas — TobyChristie.com, a fast-growing NASCAR news outlet, is excited to officially announce the addition of Michael Carey to the website’s editorial staff. Carey, a graduate of Temple University with a degree in journalism, is an emerging talent in the NASCAR Media world and is expected to make his presence known out of the gates.

Website founder and managing editor Toby Christie says adding Carey to the staff was an absolute no-brainer decision.

“First off, Michael carries himself with dignity and professionalism in his reporting,” Christie said. “He is an energetic and infectious personality and someone I have had my eye on adding to the team for some time. The planets finally aligned where it made sense to bring him in, for both of us, and I’m excited to see what he can offer for our passionate readers.”

For the 24-year old journalist, the chance to work with a website that he himself has used as a resource for his own reporting is a unique situation.

“it is an honor and a privilege to be able to join the team at TobyChristie.com,” Carey explained. “I often referenced Toby’s website for my own needs for the past year, and I always thought it would be an achievement to write for the website. I am looking forward to bringing my own angle of knowledge to the website and hope to further elevate and help to grow the site.”

Carey, who hails from Philadelphia, PA, joins a writing staff which includes Christie as well as Joseph Srigley, who also serves as the website’s statistician. The team also includes Parker Ledger, who has been in command of the paint scheme pages this year.

To this point in his career, Carey has served as a Runner for FOX Sports and NBC Sports since 2018 on their NASCAR broadcasts, working directly next to the talent and producers of the race coverage. Carey also spent four months as an intern / production assistant at NASCAR RaceHub in 2019.
