Report: NASCAR Looking to go Hybrid in Near Future

Well here is a juicy rumor, and it comes from a respected journalist Marshall Pruett of Racer Magazine.

According to a recent article following the Indianapolis 500, Pruett mentioned that folks in NASCAR are deeply considering going to a hybrid power plant in it’s next generation of Cup Series cars for 2021.

This would be a drastic shift for a sanctioning body that until recent years still used leaded fuel and carbeurators.

In recent seasons though, NASCAR has begun to go more modern. They now have fuel injectors, ethanol fuel and they have electronic dashboard instead of analog gauges.

What would you think if NASCAR went hybrid?

  1. The last thing we need is another F1 series where only one team is capable of winning. Leave it alone.
