Matt DiBenedetto had a sluggish start to the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season, his first with Leavine Family Racing.
However, the driver of the No. 95 Toyota Camry has had some solid results lately including four top-10 finishes in the last couple of months.
Despite the decent turnaround, it is looking unlikely that DiBenedetto gets a second year on his one-year deal with the race team.
According to a report from Sports Business Journal, sources close to the situation have DiBenedetto out of the No. 95 at season’s end and Christopher Bell should be sliding in for 2020.
.@MattDRacing is unlikely to return to LFR’s No. 95 Toyota next year, per people familiar, despite pulling off several impressive finishes of late in @NASCAR Cup.
? @LFR95 has been seen for months as the top option for @JoeGibbsRacing to slot either @CBellRacing or @Erik_Jones. pic.twitter.com/5coB7UfbXm
