Pre-Race Preview

Ben Rhodes comes into the race with a victory in his back pocket and he will start on pole (by way of NASCAR’s performance metric formula). Rhodes is now up to four-career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victories. If Rhodes can win at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course on Friday night, it’ll mark the first road course win of his career.

Starting alongside Rhodes will be Ryan Truex in the No. 40 Niece Motorsports machine. Truex is looking for his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series win of any kind. Truex finished fourth in the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway.

Sheldon Creed took the victory in the only NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race that has ever been contested on the Daytona International Speedway road course, which happened last August. Creed bested his then GMS Racing teammate Brett Moffitt for the win.

Creed, the 2020 series champion, will roll from fifth on the grid on Friday night, while Moffitt, who had a rough race at Daytona last week, will start from 21st.
