At just 18-years old, you have to really wonder just how much better Ty Gibbs can get. On Saturday, in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Alsco Uniforms 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the driver of the unsponsored No. 54 Toyota Supra rallied from a spin on lap 89 to score his second-career NXS victory.
Gibbs inherited the lead when Chase Briscoe went for a spin, courtesy of air causing the spin during a heated battle for the lead.

Although, Gibbs did not make contact with Briscoe, the young racer apologized for helping cause Briscoe’s spin.
“First off, I just want to say sorry to the No. 99 and Chase and his crew,” Gibbs stated sympathetically. “I didn’t hit him, but I definitely helped him out, you know, getting him loose there and that was not my intentions. I already wrecked myself, so I wanted to say sorry to them more importantly than this entire win.”
Gibbs scored his second win in just his sixth start in NXS competition. Gibbs, of course, dramatically scored his first-career win in his first-ever start at the Daytona International Speedway road course back in February.
Austin Cindric finished runner-up, by under a half-second.
Harrison Burton came home third in the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing machine and Brandon Brown utilized a fresh set of tires in the closing laps to claw his way from 21st to a fourth-place finish.
Tyler Reddick finished an impressive fifth for Jordan Anderson Racing in the No. 31 car.
Chase Briscoe came back to finish sixth after his spin with 20 laps to go while Ty Dillon, Brandon Jones, Jeb Burton and Jeremy Clements rounded out the top-10 finishers.
Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Charlotte was treacherous. The event was stopped seven times for incidents on the day. The wildest crashes of the day came in the final Stage of the race.
On lap 150, Ryan Sieg lost control of his No. 39 car on the bottom side of the track. As Sieg attempted to save his car, the car hooked right back into the oncoming field.

Then, with 15 laps left in the race, a seven-car melee erupted , which swept up Daniel Hemric, who won both Stages earlier in the race, Justin Haley, Tommy Joe Martins and more.
