The preliminary entry list for the NASCAR Xfinity Series season-opening NASCAR Racing Experience 300 at Daytona has been released. After losing their expected — driver David Starr — Jimmy Means Racing has landed on JJ Yeley to drive their No. 52 car in the season-opening race.

However, sources have revealed to TobyChristie.com that Yeley will drive for the team past Daytona. In fact, Yeley will drive the first three races of the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series season for the team.

Yeley, who is set for full-time duty in the NASCAR Cup Series with Rick Ware Racing this season, has 15-career top-five finishes in Xfinity Series competition.

So what about after Fontana?

As TobyChristie.com reported upon first breaking the news of David Starr jumping ship to JD Motorsports, my sources are still saying that Kody Vanderwal will take over the No. 52 car beginning with Phoenix — the fourth race of the season.

According to one source, Vanderwal is expected to be the driver for the full season beginning with Phoenix.

Vanderwal, a Colorado native, is a two-time winner in what is now known as the ARCA Menards West Series.
