In a tweet on Tuesday Afternoon, Ryan Vargas announced that he would be returning to the NASCAR Xfinity Series driving for JD Motorsports at Kansas Speedway on July 25th. Much like Pocono, Vargas will drive the team’s No. 15 Chevrolet Camaro in his first ever start at Kansas Speedway.

Vargas, the 19-year old from La Mirada, California, has been on the hunt for sponsorship since the conclusion on last season, in hopes of having the financial backing necessary, to get him a myriad of seat time in a NASCAR Xfinity Series car in 2020. Last week, Vargas announced that he had signed a multi-race agreement to drive for JD Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, beginning at Pocono Raceway. Vargas finish thirteenth at Pocono, a career-best in four career NASCAR Xfinity Series starts.

In his prior NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, all driving for JD Motorsports, Vargas has notched three top-twenty finishes, posting a career average finish of 18.50. Vargas’ thirteenth place result at Pocono Raceway was not only the career-best finish for Vargas, but also extended the streak of top-twenty finishes for JD Motorsports’ No. 15 to six, the third longest streak in the NASCAR Xfinity Series currently, behind only Stewart-Haas Racing’s No. 98 [driven by Chase Briscoe] and Richard Childress Racing’s No. 21 [driven by Anthony Alfredo and Myatt Snider]
