Rockingham Speedway will be hosting a Goodyear tire test on Wednesday, November 13, in preparation for the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ return to the historic one-mile oval in 2025.

In August, Track Enterprises officially announced that it had agreed with Rockingham Speedway’s ownership group to allow both the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series to return to the venue on Easter Weekend in 2025.

Those events will occur on Friday, April 18, and Saturday, April 19 at the venerable Richmond County Speedway.

Three drivers will be participating in the NASCAR Xfinity Series tire test on Wednesday, including Justin Allgaier, the newly-crowned champion in the second-tier series.

Brandon Jones, who will drive for Joe Gibbs Racing in 2025, and Sheldon Creed, who will join Haas Factory Team, will also be participating in the Goodyear tire test.

Even though Wednesday’s test session will be closed to the public, all three drivers will be available for members of the media in the Rockingham Speedway Media Center following the conclusion of on-track activity.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series has not contested a points-paying event at Rockingham Speedway since 2004. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, however, returned to the racetrack for a revival in 2012 and 2013.

  1. I’d love to see a cup race at the rock instead of that stupid street race in Chicago or the rival at Charlotte. There were lots of great races at the Rock, True Nascar races, not these clown shows of late.
