Noah Gragson had a successful second full-time season in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition in 2020, as he scored his first two wins in the series and finished fifth in the championship standings. Now, the 22-year old will attempt to add a second Snowball Derby victory to his list of achievements during the offseason, according to Speed51.

Gragson, a Las Vegas-native, last competed in the prestigious Super Late Model event in Pensacola, Florida in 2018. He took home the trophy that day while driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports. This time around, Gragson will drive for Wauters Motorsports, a team that Gragson competed with before he got his big break with KBM.

“I’m super excited for it.  I’m excited to get back down there.  It’s a fun race,” Gragson said in an interview with Speed51. ” I wanted to get down there last year, but I had a wedding to go to, so I wasn’t able to go.  This year, I’m super pumped up to be there.  It’ll be a lot of fun.”

Gragson’s great performance during the 2020 NXS season has secured him another season in the JR Motorsports No. 9 machine for the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

Gragson will not be the only NASCAR name competing in the event, as 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion Chase Elliott, NASCAR Xfinity Series competitor Mason Diaz, Camping World Truck Series competitors Derek Kraus, Carson Hocevar and Chandler Smith are on the initial entry list along with Ty Majeski, who ran the majority of the Truck Series schedule in 2020 and Rich Bickle, who ran in the NASCAR Cup Series from 1989 to 2003, scoring a best finish of fourth at Martinsville Speedway in 1998.

Bickle, 59, is the all-time record holder in the Snowball Derby with five victories in the event.

The 53rd-annual Snowball Derby will take place on December 6th at 2PM ET. The race can be viewed by purchasing a pay-per-view video ticket on Speed51.com.
