Mike Harmon will make his 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series debut in the No. 74 car at Martinsville.

Mike Harmon, who has run a total of 288 NASCAR Xfinity Series races over 20 years, will make his first start of the 2021 season in Saturday’s Dead On Tools 250 at Martinsville Speedway.

Harmon, 63, will drive the No. 74 entry for his Mike Harmon Racing team this weekend. The No. 74 machine was listed on the entry list and starting lineup this weekend, but the driver was marked TBA (to be announced).

Mike Harmon Racing made the official announcement on Friday via Twitter:

Last season, Harmon made four starts as a driver, and all four were quite successful. Harmon finished 16th in the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway, which is his career-best finish in NXS competition.

Harmon then went on to finish 25th at Talladega Superspeedway in the spring, 17th at Daytona in the summer and 17th at Talladega in the fall.

Harmon’s last NASCAR Xfinity Series start at a non-superspeedway event came at Phoenix Raceway in the fall of 2019. Harmon finished 29th that day.

The Alabama-native will look to score a solid finish in his first driving stint of the year.
