Mason Maggio, a part-timer across the NASCAR Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series, is set to return to MBM Motorsports for the Ag-Pro 300 at Talladega Superspeedway.

The 20-year-old driver will attempt to make his 13th start in the NASCAR Xfinity Series on Saturday, piloting the No. 66 Chevrolet at the 2.66-mile superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama.

Denssi Energy Pouches, which joined Maggio for a multi-race sponsorship agreement beginning at Homestead earlier this year, will serve as the primary sponsor of the entry at Talladega, with a bold pink and white scheme.

Saturday’s 300-miler from Talladega won’t be Maggio’s first encounter with MBM Motorsports, having made a pair of NASCAR Xfinity Series with the organization in 2023, including his series debut at Richmond in the Spring.

“I am super excited to be back behind the wheel of the No. 66 for Carl Long and MBM Motorsports,” Maggio said in a team release. “I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to be racing at Talladega. The guys brought a great car to this event last year. I am confident we have a fast racecar and thrilled to be working with the same team that gave me my first couple of starts in the Xfinity Series. Big thank you to Denssi Energy Pouches and all our amazing partners for the opportunity.”

The Palm Beach Gardens, Florida-native made his first-ever start at Talladega Superspeedway last Fall in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event, driving the No. 21 for Floridian Motorsports — an entry in which MBM Motorsports team owner Carl Long served as a crew chief.

“Mason, Tony [Mason’s father], and I have been talking about adding more races since our Truck deal finished up last year, and we have finally put it together,” said Long. “Mason has shown me he is a quick study when put in new situations, be it a new car or a new track. In our Talladega truck race last year, Mason got collected in a crash and still managed to run on the lead lap and earn a solid finish. He can adapt very quickly.”

“Our car has shown speed on plate tracks. It’s going to be tough to qualify in on speed, but I feel confident we can do it with our equipment. We have put a lot of good people in place on short notice, including Hendrick engines, an experienced crew assembled by Phil Horton, and long-time spotter Steve Barkdoll on the roof.”

Maggio will have to qualify the No. 66 Chevrolet into the NASCAR Xfinity Series field on Friday, with the MBM Motorsports team being low in owner points. Qualifying will take place on Friday, April 25.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series Ag-Pro 300 will take place on Saturday, April 26 at 4:00 PM ET, with coverage on The CW, MRN, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
