Surprise! Kyle Busch is back in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
The two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion will return to the second-tier series in Saturday’s BetMGM 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, piloting the No. 33 Chevrolet Camaro — a third entry for Richard Childress Racing.
Rebel Bourbon and BetMGM, a pair of companies that support Busch’s NASCAR Cup Series program with RCR, will serve as co-primary sponsors of the entry, as the Las Vegas, Nevada native looks to score his record-extending 103rd win in the Xfinity Series.

“I’m definitely looking forward to driving a [Richard Childress Racing] Xfinity Series car,” said Busch in an announcement video. “I think it’s going to be fun. I’m grateful to get the opportunity from Richard [Childress] and everybody at the Xfinity shop.”
Saturday’s BetMGM 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway will mark the first start for Busch with Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Last season, in the first year of his Cup Series deal with RCR, Busch ran a four-race program in the second-tier series with Kaulig Racing, recording a single top-five result.
“I think this opportunity is appealing to just get out there and run Xfinity, but also to help RCR’s development with their car, their engine, and things like that,” Busch added. “Just excited to see what it’s all about.”
Busch will serve as a teammate to Austin Hill and Jesse Love, who both compete full-time in the Xfinity Series for Richard Childress Racing. Both the No. 2 and No. 21 have reached Victory Lane in 2024, and sit top-five in driver point standings.
With 366 starts in the second-tier series, Busch has an illustrious resume, which includes a series-leading 102 victories, 226 top-five finishes, and 266 top-10 results. Last time out at Darlington, Justin Allgaier surpassed Busch’s formerly leading top-10 total, a record he’ll look to even out at Charlotte.

I think it’s just what he needed. He ran his best with JGR when he was running both Cup, Xfinity, and trucks regularly.
