Another NASCAR Xfinity Series race, another clean sweep for JR Motorsports.
Saturday’s Alsco Uniforms 300 at Charlotte – once again — proved that the four-car operation has figured out something incredible, with Josh Berry securing his second victory in the last four events.
Leading a race-high 89 laps, the Hendersonville, Tennesee-native appeared to have his competition narrowed to only Justin Allgaier, as the two engaged in an epic battle for the top spot in the race’s final stint.
Amidst a myriad of slide jobs and contact between the teammates, Allgaier made significant contact with the outside wall, which would cut down a tire on his No. 7 Chevrolet Camaro, ending what was a fantastic spar for the victory.
From that point, Berry had a pretty easy drive to the conclusion of the event, and pulled a whopping 18-second advantage over runner-up Ty Gibbs, the largest margin of victory that the series has seen in two decades.

Even more impressive, was the sheer dominance on the part of JR Motorsports, who between the team’s four drivers, led 190 of the race’s 200 laps. Only Ryan Preece – driving for BJ McLeod Motorsports — was able to lead otherwise.
The organization – owned by two-time Xfinity champion, Dale Jr. — held three of the top-four spots in the final running order, only being split by Ty Gibbs, who finished in second place, after starting at the rear of the field.
Sam Mayer continued his streak of top-five results with a third-place finish, while Noah Gragson combated a major engine issue, to finish in fourth. Rounding out the top five was Ryan Preece.
Daniel Hemric finished as the final car on the lead lap in sixth, with Justin Allgaier, Sheldon Creed, Trevor Bayne, and Myatt Snider rounding out the top-10.
Finishing 19th, two laps behind the leaders, AJ Allmendinger’s streak of top-10 finishes to begin the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign came to an end at 12, however, the Kaulig Racing driver did manage to keep the points lead over Noah Gragson.
Next weekend, the NASCAR Xfinity Series heads to Portland International Raceway for the series’ inaugural event at the west coast road course.
