Joey Gase is giving fans a chance to own a piece of history as he has placed the iconic rear bumper, which he tossed at Dawson Cram’s No. 4 JD Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro at Richmond Raceway for sale in an auction on eBay.

The starting bid in the auction for the rear bumper is set at $500.00. The auction is set to conclude on Monday, April 29 at 7:09 PM ET. At the time of this story being published, there is one bid currently placed on the auction.

The eBay listing comes on the heels of Wednesday’s ruling from the National Motorsports Appeals Panel, which upheld the $5,000 fine that NASCAR originally assessed to Gase for the bumper throw. Following testimony from Gase, the Appeals Panel, which was comprised of Mr. Hunter Nickell, Ms. Shawna Robinson, and Mr. Kevin Whitaker, concluded that Gase was guilty of violating Section 8.8.8.K of the NASCAR Xfinity Series Rule Book, which pertains to Crew Members/Servicing.

The official statement from the Appeals panel was that, “The panel concludes NASCAR was correct in ruling that driver Joey Gase put himself in a dangerous position on the racetrack.”

Gase tossed the bumper at Cram in frustration after he was spun by Cram on Lap 174, which sent his No. 35 Chevrolet Camaro hard into the outside wall in Turns 1 and 2. As Gase assessed his damage, he yanked the rear bumper cover off of his car, and as Cram rounded Turn 2 and reached the backstretch, Gase javelin tossed the bumper, which connected with the windshield of Cram’s car.

In the wake of the bumper throwing incident, Gase landed a new sponsor in Bumpers That Deliver. That company will be on Gase’s car at Michigan International Speedway later this season.

Additionally, Gase and Cram each made t-shirts in honor of the incident. A portion of proceeds from both shirts went to Gase’s charitable cause at Donate Life.

Following the crash at Richmond, Gase estimated that his team was set back roughly $60,000 due to what he felt was an avoidable accident at Richmond Raceway.
