On Friday, Jeffrey Earnhardt became the latest driver to be announced as being a part of the JD Motorsports NASCAR Xfinity Series team for the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

With main sponsorship funding coming from FlexFit hats, Earnhardt will run at least 12 races in a car number to be announced at a later date according to a JD Motorsports press release.

“I am really thankful to Johnny Davis and the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller team for having me onboard this season,” said Earnhardt in the release. “These guys work hard every week and they’ve demonstrated the ability and desire to compete. I am looking forward to getting back on track this season!”

If Earnhardt can find more funding, more races could be run.

The team has now announced a whopping six drivers for it’s four full-time cars.

Earnhardt, the grandson of the legendary Dale Earnhardt and nephew of Dale Earnhardt Jr., has 73 starts in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition. Most of his starts have come from fledgling organizations as Earnhardt has become the true definition of a journeyman through his NASCAR career.

However, the 30-year old has a career best finish of third, which came at Charlotte in the midst of a seven-race stint with Joe Gibbs Racing and Toyota last season.

The North Carolina native had an odd split with his former sponsor iK9 last season, which left his career in limbo. However, Earnhardt has landed a ride for 2020 as he continues to attempt to build his resume for another big break.

In addition to Earnhardt, JD Motorsports will have Jesse Little, Colby Howard, Robby Lyons, BJ McLeod and David Starr on roster for the 2020 season.
