Chase Briscoe assumed the lead during a pit stop under the yellow flag at lap 20, and he didn’t look back as he paced the remaining laps in the opening Stage of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Justin Allgaier had dominated the early section of the Stage, but he overshot his pit stall during the lap 19 yellow flag handed the lead to Briscoe.

Ross Chastain, who started outside the top-20, rebounded to finish the Stage in second. Austin Cindric, Brandon Jones and Allgaier rounded out the top-five in Stage 1.

Michael Annett, Harrison Burton, Noah Gragson, Justin Haley and Riley Herbst also scored stage points with top-10 finishes in Stage 1.

It was a relatively clean Stage, other than a crash by Daniel Hemric on lap 19, when it appeared a tire went soft on his No. 8 JR Motorsports machine, while running inside the top-five.
