Chase Briscoe came into the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series season wanting to win eight races. Well, he’s already at three victories through the first 10 races of the season after he took the win Sunday in the Contender Boats 250 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

“It’s a good run going so far, but we are looking to win a lot more.” Briscoe said after climbing from his car.

Briscoe looked to be heading to a second-place finish to Noah Gragson, when Austin Cindric went spinning with two laps to go to bring on an overtime finish. Under the yellow, Briscoe beat Gragson out of pit lane for the race lead.

After another crash in overtime, Briscoe was able to hold off a hard charging Brandon Jones for the win on the last lap.

Briscoe, of course, was without his crew chief, car chief and lead engineer after his No. 98 car dropped weight ballasts before Saturday’s race at Homestead. Legendary crew chief Greg Zipadelli stood in atop the pit box during the race.

“Yeah, that was a team win after yesterday,” Briscoe explained.

Behind Briscoe and Jones was Ross Chastain.

AJ Allmendinger finished fourth, which placed him the highest of the four Dash4Cash drivers, which secured him a $100,000 bonus.

Noah Gragson, who led a race-high 81 laps was disappointed with a fifth-place finish. Gragson had the lead late in both events at Homestead this weekend, but late cautions wiped out both potential victories for the JR Motorsports driver.

Justin Haley, Myatt Snider, Harrison Burton, Riley Herbst and Austin Cindric rounded out the top-10 finishers in Sunday’s Xfinity Series race.
