Noah Gragson lost Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Contender Boats 250 at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the most heartbreaking of fashions. The driver of the No. 9 JR Motorsports machine had a nine second lead with just over two laps to go. Coming into turns three and four heading toward two laps to go, David Starr — who was running 12th at the time — washed up the track in front of Gragson.

Gragson piled hard into the back of Starr, ending his race and any shot at victory.

Here is video of the incident, if you haven’t seen it yet:

Following the incident, Gragson took exception to Starr.

“What are you going to do? You’ve got dipshits in the way every single week,” Gragson said after exiting the infield care center. “But very thankful for Johnny Morris and Bass Pro Shops. It’s a shame, we’ve dominated the last three races including this race and had stuff happen like that.”

On Monday, Starr’s MBM Motorsports team owner Carl Long took to Facebook to voice his displeasure with Gragson’s attitude and comments following the accident, which was caused when the tire on Starr’s car corded and shredded apart.

In the Facebook post, Long called Gragson an, “over entitled mouthpiece,” and said that Gragson, “did not have enough talent to miss our wreck.”

Long finished the post by saying, ” Statements like his could and usually does come back and cost him…”

Whoa. Sounds like Gragson, who has had feuds with other drivers on top-tier teams before such as Myatt Snider, Harrison Burton and Riley Herbst, now has a feud with the underdog MBM Motorsports team.

After three races in the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, Gragson has two DNFs and sits an abysmal 27th in the NXS championship standings. It’s understandable to see how frustration has begun to mount for Gragson. That being said, it does appear that Starr had a tire issue that caused the incident late in Saturday’s race.
