Brad Perez, who has carved a nice little part-time career in the NASCAR National Series with a road-racing background, is set to contest his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series race on an oval at Kansas Speedway on September 28. Alpha Prime Racing announced on Tuesday that Perez will pilot the team’s No. 45 Chevrolet Camaro in that event.

The 27-year-old racer has a total of 14 starts combined in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series ranks since the beginning of the 2022 season. The Hollywood, FL native has competed in three oval races in the NASCAR Truck Series, where he had a best finish of 24th at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Perez, who joined Alpha Prime Racing this year for a part-time driving role as the team’s development driver and Perez has been heading up the team’s simulator prep, recorded his career-best NASCAR Xfinity Series finish with a solid 18th-place showing at Circuit of the Americas in March driving Alpha Prime’s No. 45 machine.

The young driver has worn a lot of hats in his young career within the NASCAR industry. He’s served as a tire technician for several race teams prior to moving forward with his own driving career. Perez cut his racing teeth on road courses driving Mazda Miatas.

The Alpha Prime Racing team as a whole have enjoyed a much better campaign this year than they had a season ago. After the opening 20 races of the 2024 season, the team’s two full-time drivers — Brennan Poole and Ryan Ellis — sit 16th and 24th in the championship standings.
