Harrison Burton will look for his third NASCAR Xfinity Series win of the 2020 season Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway in the My Bariatric Solutions 300, but if he reaches victory lane it’ll be without his crew chief Ben Beshore.

Beshore did not travel to Texas Motor Speedway with Joe Gibbs Racing and is in quarantine after potentially being exposed to COVID-19. Dustin Zacharyasz will serve as the interim crew chief for the No. 20 team in Saturday’s race.

Burton and Beshore as a duo have won two races, and have finished inside the top-10 10 times in the first 15 races of 2020. Burton sits sixth in the championship standings heading into Texas Motor Speedway.

This is the latest COVID-19 scare in NASCAR, the first one involving a crew chief.

Jimmie Johnson missed the Brickyard 400 earlier in the season after a positive COVID-19 test, and part-time NASCAR Cup Series driver Brendan Gaughan revealed earlier this week that he is in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19 as well.

NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Jarrett has also battled COVID-19.
