Our Motorsports – a first-year team in the NASCAR Xfinity Series — has tapped road racing veteran Andy Lally to pilot the No. 02 Chevrolet Camaro in the series’ upcoming road races at Road America and Daytona International Speedway’s Road Course.

With both weekends open on the IMSA schedule, and primary driver Brett Moffitt focusing on his championship efforts in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series at Michigan and Daytona, Lally was a natural fit for the ride. The full-time IMSA competitor has five class victories in the Rolex 24, but has yet to visit victory lane in a stock car.

In 11 prior NASCAR Xfinity Series starts – all on road courses — Lally has recorded one top-five and five top-ten finishes, earning a career-best fifth-place result at Mid-Ohio in 2017, driving for Bobby Dotter and SS Greenlight Racing.

“Times are crazy and to think we are going to unload at Road America and Daytona and just wave the green is intense and I can’t wait for the action,” continued Lally. “Brett has done a good job for this hard-working crew so far this year and the bar is set pretty high. I’ll try to deliver the team a great result and learn what I can at Road America and apply it to Daytona. Rain or shine these are obviously going to be a thrilling race for the fans and I’ll be trying my best for a result we can be proud of.”

Lally’s first of two consecutive race weekends in the NASCAR Xfinity Series will take place on August 8th at Road America, with the event at Daytona International Speedway’s Road Course taking place the following Saturday, August 15th.

Both races will include no additional on-track time, as NASCAR announced on Tuesday that NASCAR’s National Series would not feature any practice of qualifying sessions for the remainder of the 2020 NASCAR Season.
