The second race of the season is upon us (or the start of the “real season” as some teams would say) and the newly revamped NASCAR schedule brings us out to the west coast for the Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. 36 cars are enetered for 36 spots in the field on Saturday’s race, but with rain in the forecast, it is possible that we see some on track cancellations Saturday.

IF qualifying were to be rained out for the NASCAR XFINITY Series we would set the field in a different way, than if qualifying was seen through. Firsty, the top 25 in 2019 Owners Standings would automatically clinch the Top-25 starting positions, like so:

  1. No. 21 – Myatt Snider (Snider will have to start at the rear regardless because of a practice crash.)
  2. No. 98 – Chase Briscoe
  3. No. 20 – Harrison Burton
  4. No. 7 – Justin Allgaier
  5. No. 52 – J.J. Yeley (Purchased 2019 Owners Points from Stewart-Haas Racing)
  6. No. 22 – Austin Cindric
  7. No. 9 – Noah Gragson
  8. No. 1 – Michael Annett
  9. No. 19 – Brandon Jones
  10. No. 8 – Daniel Hemric
  11. No. 11 – Justin Haley
  12. No. 18 – Riley Herbst
  13. No. 02 – Brett Moffitt (Purchased 2019 Owners Points from GMS Racing)
  14. No. 93 – Joey Gase (Swapped Owners Points with No. 39 Team)
  15. No. 08 – Joe Graf, Jr.
  16. No. 51 – Jeremy Clements
  17. No. 15 – Robby Lyons (Swapped Owners Points with No. 4 Team)
  18. No. 07 – Ray Black, Jr.
  19. No. 68 – Brandon Brown
  20. No. 92 – Josh Williams
  21. No. 6 – David Starr
  22. No. 4 – Jesse Little
  23. No. 90 – Alex Labbe
  24. No. 0 – B.J. McLeod
  25. No. 10 – Ross Chastain
  26. No. 5 – Matt Mills
  27. No. 99 – Mason Massey
  28. No. 78 – Vinnie Miller
  29. No. 61 – Timmy Hill
  30. No. 66 – Stephen Leicht

The next positions will be given to any 2019 or 2020 race winners (drivers or teams). Since there are none, the positions will be given to any past Owners or Drivers Champions.

31. No. 47 – Joe Nemechek

Following this, the remainder of the spots will be given based on the CURRENT YEARS OWNER STANDINGS.

32. No. 39 – Ryan Sieg
33. No. 74 – Kyle Weatherman
34. No. 13 – Chad Finchum
35. No. 44 – Tommy Joe Martins
36. No. 89 – Landon Cassill

STARTING LINEUP IF QUALIFYING IS CANCELLED
NOTE 2: IF REQUIRED, Saturday’s Boyd Gaming 300 will be postponed to Sunday, February 23rd @ 7:30PM EST on FS2.

If qualifying goes on as planned, each vehicle will get one single lap qualifying attempt to set the field for Saturday’s race.

One Response

  1. If you got tickets to Sunday’s race but Saturday gets rained out does that mean you can see both race for price of one
