Following his first public television interview since his suspension from NASCAR back in April, word has come that Kyle Larson has officially filed for reinstatement to NASCAR.

Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic was the first to report this, and it has since been confirmed by a NASCAR spokesperson to TobyChristie.com as well.

According to NASCAR, Larson applied for reinstatement earlier this week.

The NASCAR spokesman said, that while there’s no ETA on a decision in regards to Larson’s reinstatement, “We’ll continue to discuss internally, with stakeholders and with Kyle, himself. Will announce any updates when we have them.”

Larson, who has made strides to better himself as a person since his suspension, has also gone on a tear in the world of dirt. Larson has already amassed more than 40 dirt feature wins between a myriad of sanctioning bodies.

The 28-year old driver has six wins in his NASCAR Cup Series career, which has spanned 223 starts.

Now, the loudest sounds from the rumor mill are that Larson will be heading to Hendrick Motorsports for the 2021 season.

If Larson is indeed reinstated by NASCAR, there is a very real possibility that he lands on a very formidable team.
