KOHR Motorsports, a multi-car operation competing in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge, is set to deliver a touching tribute during the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway in January.
The organization is set to honor late NASCAR legend Greg Biffle, who passed away in a tragic plane crash on December 18, along with his wife, two children, and three of the family’s friends. Biffle was 55.
When Evan Slater and Ray Mason, the previously confirmed drivers of the KOHR Motorsports No. 60 Ford Mustang GT4, hit the racetrack for the first time in 2026, they’ll do so with a special tribute livery — one matching Biffle’s 2002 NASCAR Busch Series championship-winning car.
“In light of last week’s tragedy involving one of NASCAR’s 75 Greatest Drivers and off-track Humanitarian, Greg Biffle, including his family and friends,” an Instagram post reads. “KOHR Motorsports will be running a tribute 2002 NASCAR Busch Championship No. 60 Ford livery on our IMPC No. 60 Ford Mustang GT4 during the upcoming IMSA Roar Before The 24 and 4 Hour BMW M Endurance Michelin Pilot Challenge.”
Biffle was an extraordinary competitor across all three of NASCAR’s National Series, winning a combined 56 events — 19 in the NASCAR Cup Series, 20 in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and 17 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
The Vancouver, Washington-native was a champion in both the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (2000) and the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series (2002), and searched for much of his career to become the first driver to win championships in all of NASCAR’s top-three series. The closest Biffle came was a runner-up result in 2005 — one of three top-five points finishes throughout his 15-year career at NASCAR’s top-level.
Biffle competed in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona once in his illustrious racing career, driving the No. 49 Crown Royal-sponsored Multimatic MDP1 / Ford entry alongside his Roush Fenway Racing teammates (at the time) Kurt Busch and Matt Kenseth, as well as strong road course racer Scott Maxwell, who competed throughout his career in the 12 Hours of Sebring, 24 Hours of Daytona, and 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The event is set to take place on Friday, January 23, at Daytona International Speedway, ahead of the 64th Annual Rolex 24. The event is set to commence at 1:45 PM ET, with live streaming beginning at 1:40 PM ET on Peacock.
