When the NASCAR Xfinity Series takes to the Kansas Speedway for the opening race of round two in the NASCAR Playoffs, Carrollton, Texas-driver Jesse Iwuji will be making his second start in the series – and his first on an oval — piloting the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro for BJ McLeod Motorsports in the Kansas Lottery 300.

“What a dream come true as a US Navy service member to continue living my dreams, getting the opportunity to run an oval in a [NASCAR Xfinity Series] car this weekend at Kansas with BJ McLeod Motorsports,” said Iwuji. “Six years ago I was in the middle of an Arabian Gulf deployment, now I’m racing in the Xfinity Series. My goal this weekend is to learn from all of the drivers who have far more experience, run all the laps, and finish clean.”

Iwuji’s effort at Kansas will be backed by eRacing Association, a new iRacing league that is set to launch in December, which will give away $10,000 to the top finishing drivers in each main event.

“This week we have the eRacing Association onboard as a primary sponsor, a new league set to debut in December in iRacing, where they will be giving away $10,000 in winnings to the top finishing drivers in each main event race, not just for a championship. Any iRacers who want to compete to win $10,000, ca head to eRacing.gg to sign up for the email list, and when more details come out you’ll be the first to know.”

The Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway marks the first race of a three-race deal for Iwuji and BJ McLeod Motorsports, as the 33-year-old will run the No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro in the series’ events at Texas Motor Speedway and Phoenix Raceway.
