There are 36 cars on the preliminary entry list for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Virginia. This race, which takes place around the 0.750-mile short track, will mark the seventh race of the 36-race NASCAR Cup Series season.
With the NASCAR Cup Series able to start up to 40 cars in the field for its races, no drivers or teams will fail to qualify for this weekend’s event. The 36 cars on the entry list this weekend is a reduction from the 39 cars that raced last weekend at Circuit of the Americas.
William Byron, who scored the win in last week’s EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at COTA, will return this week in the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 with primary sponsorship from Liberty University. Byron, the only multi-time race winner in the NASCAR Cup Series so far in 2024, has yet to reach victory lane at Richmond. He’ll look to change that this weekend.
Among the notable entries, will be the No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet Camaro entry, which will be piloted by full-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series racer Ty Dillon. Dillon is making his first Cup start of the season this weekend, and he’ll drive five races for Kaulig this year.
Also, the No. 15 Rick Ware Racing entry will once again be driven by Rookie of the Year contender Kaz Grala.
