There are 39 cars on the preliminary entry list for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. This race, around the 3.410-mile road course, will mark the sixth race of the 36-race NASCAR Cup Series season.

With the NASCAR Cup Series able to start up to 40 cars in the field for its races, no drivers or teams will fail to qualify for this weekend’s event. The 39 cars on the entry list this weekend is the most of any NASCAR Cup Series entry list since the season-opening Daytona 500, which featured 42 entries.

Denny Hamlin, who scored the win in last week’s Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway, will return this week in the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry XSE with primary sponsorship from Interstate Batteries. Hamlin has a career average finish of 16.0 in three starts at the picture-esque road racing venue in Texas.

In addition to the 36 chartered entries, there are three open entries slated to make a start this weekend.

Kaulig Racing will field the No. 13 LeafFilter Gutter Protection Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for the first time this season with AJ Allmendinger behind the wheel of that entry.

23XI Racing will also field a third entry this weekend, the No. 50 Mobil 1 Toyota Camry XSE, with renowned road racer Kamui Kobayashi behind the wheel. Kobayashi made his first career NASCAR Cup Series start last season at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course.

The No. 66 Power Source (formerly known as MBM Motorsports) team will also make its first NASCAR Cup Series start since the spring race at Talladega Superspeedway back in 2022. Timmy Hill will pilot that entry this weekend with primary sponsorship from Amptricity.
