There are 37 cars on the preliminary entry list for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the 33rd race of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season and the opening race of the Playoffs Round of 8.
With up to 40 cars being permitted to start races in the NASCAR Cup Series, no drivers or teams will head home to North Carolina after this week’s qualifying session.
Kyle Larson, last weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race winner at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL, will return as the driver of the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 with primary sponsorship from HendrickCars.com.
Notable entries, among the 36 chartered entries, for the event will include Cody Ware in the No. 15 Rick Ware Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse, and Shane van Gisbergen in the No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
Additionally, Jimmie Johnson will pilot the part-time No. 84 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB Toyota Camry XSE.
