Video: Stenhouse, Custer Collide and Spin to Bring Out Caution

Cautions breed cautions. The old saying proved to be true in the early laps of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Shriners Children’s 500 at Phoenix Raceway as Ricky Stenhouse Jr., and Cole Custer spun in a four-wide battle with Todd Gilliland and Noah Gragson to bring out the second caution of the race on Lap 10.

Gilliland, who was in the middle of the four-wide battle, received contact from Custer, which sent him up into Stenhouse. Contact with Stenhouse sent the No. 47 HYAK Motorsports driver spinning out, as Stenhouse spun down the track, he collided with Custer’s No. 41 Haas Factory Team Ford to send him spinning also.

Somehow, Alex Bowman had an incredible crash avoidance and was able to miss the incident.
