ORIGINAL STORY Sunday, June 4th

Fortunately, Noah Gragson was able to walk away from an extremely hard impact in Turn 1 on lap 198 of Sunday’s Enjoy Illinois 300 at World Wide Technology Raceway.

As Gragson came off of Turn 4, the right front brake rotor exploded on his No. 42 LEGACY MOTOR CLUB Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, which led to Gragson being unable to slow down as he barreled into Turn 1.

Gragson’s car cranked sideways and plowed hard into the outside wall. Due to the severe nature of the crash, the red flag was deployed for clean up to the track with 42 laps remaining in the event.

Here is a video of the hard crash for Gragson:

Gragson’s rotor explosion marked the third rotor that had exploded in the event, as Carson Hocevar had one detonate on Lap 91, and then Tyler Reddick experienced one on Lap 175.
