Video: Michael McDowell Loses Tire and Spins Hard Into Wall After Contact From Chase Elliott

You hate to see it for Michael McDowell, who finished eighth in the Pocono Organics 325 on Saturday at Pocono Raceway. The driver of the No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford Mustang was trying to back up that impressive showing with another solid effort Sunday at Pocono.

However, on lap 15, McDowell cut a tire and spun hard into the outside wall.

What led to this incident was contact with Chase Elliott, which sent McDowell into the wall a couple of laps earlier. This led to a fender rub, which caused the cut tire.

McDowell came into the race, 22nd in the championship standings and has been having the best season of his NASCAR Cup Series career.
