Video: Martin Truex, Jr. Smacks Wall in Turn Three; Josh Berry Crashes in Aftermath

Josh Berry is the fifth driver to retire from Sunday’s Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, after contact from Ty Gibbs sent the No. 4 Ford Mustang Dark Horse hard into the outside wall.

The Stewart-Haas Racing driver was running at the back half of the pack when he got tagged, causing significant damage to the Panini-sponsored machine.

That’s not where the problems started on the restart, though, after contact between Kyle Larson and Martin Truex, Jr. while in a three-wide situation with Ross Chastain sent the No. 19 Toyota Camry XSE hard into the outside wall in the third corner.

It was the stack-up, caused by Truex smacking the wall, that triggered the incident behind it.

Berry joins Harrison Burton, AJ Allmendinger, and William Byron out of the Brickyard 400 by an accident, and BJ McLeod, who retired from the event prematurely due to a mechanical issue.
