Joey Logano and Daniel Suarez suffered major damage in a seven-car crash on Lap 36 of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway.

Joey Logano had just won the opening Stage of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series HighPoint.com 400 at Pocono Raceway, but his bid to win the race appears to be over at the start of Stage 2.

While running in a swarm of cars deep in the field, Logano made contact with Tyler Reddick, which sent Logano down into Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s No. 47 machine. From there, Logano was out of control and he spun up into the outside wall.

As the field of cars was attempting to miss the crash, Playoff hopeful Daniel Suarez was swept up into the crash after contact with Bubba Wallace and Michael McDowell. The damage suffered by Suarez was severe.

Here is a video of the seven-car melee that has Playoff implications for Suarez:

And here are some additional looks at the crash:

The seven drivers that were involved in this crash were Logano, Suarez, Bubba Wallace, Michael McDowell, Erik Jones, Tyler Reddick, and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Initially, Suarez was able to return to the track after repairs, but he has since returned to the garage and is done for the day.

This will spell trouble for Suarez, who entered the day one point below the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff cutline.
