Kurt Busch entered Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway fourth in the Playoff Standings, but he will not be fourth at the end of the night as his race is done after just 40 laps.
Kurt Busch was running in third, when all of a sudden the left rear tire on his No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro went soft. Busch lost control and spun driver’s side first into the outside retaining wall.

It was an extremely hard hit but Busch was able to walk away.
“The guys said they had the tire tight. We made an adjustment. There was no rub and the left rear let go,” Busch explained after a trip to the infield care center. “And I was just radioing to them how loose the car was. Something happened with that left rear and it let go. And it let go of our points, and it let go of our whole season right now. I don’t know what we’re going to have to do at Bristol other than win.”
