Christopher Bell had done an incredible job battling back from a cut tire early in Stage 1 of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but with nine laps remaining in Stage 2, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver will have a lot more work to do.
Coming off of Turn 2, Bell lost control of his No. 20 Interstate Batteries Toyota Camry, and as he skidded down the track surface, Alex Bowman did an incredible job avoiding hitting him.
Bell was running in the 14th position at the time of his spin near the end of Stage 2, and he will now have to battle back from the 29th position. Somehow, Bell has remained on the lead lap all race long, so as long as he can avoid any more calamity, he should have a chance to salvage a decent finish.
