Video: Bubba Wallace, Chase Briscoe Crash Battling for Lead

The ninth caution of what has turned out to be a wild NASCAR Cup Series Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Texas Motor Speedway took place on Lap 173.

Harrison Burton fired the No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford Mustang to the inside to take the lead in a three-wide move with Bubba Wallace and Chase Briscoe. As Burton was taking the lead, Wallace and Briscoe made contact.

Wallace turned sideways, and Briscoe couldn’t avoid hitting the spinning No. 23 Toyota Camry XSE.

It was a severe bummer for both drivers, who have shown speed throughout the race on Sunday. Wallace finished second in Stage 2, and Briscoe was the fifth-place finisher in both Stages 1 and 2.

If both drivers are to gain decent finishes on Sunday, they’ll have to rally quickly.

  1. Bubba doesn’t deserve a win because he has a bad attitude that has him harassing his dad’s side of his heritage. Chase has been abandoned by his mentor for that stupid style “racing” his bimbo wife does. Chase B. would have several wins now if Smoke were still in his corner!!!
