Ty Dillon is set to make a full-time return to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2025, joining forces with Kaulig Racing.
Dillon will drive the organization’s second full-time entry in the Cup Series, which will be rebranded from the No. 31 to the No. 10 in 2025. The team will relinquish its rights to the No. 31 at season’s end.
“We’re excited to be able to acquire the rights of the No. 10 for the 2025 Cup Series season,” said Chris Rice, president of Kaulig Racing. “When we decided to move to the Cup series, the number was not available, so we are looking forward to having familiarity and synergy across both series with the Nos. 10 and 16.”
The Lewisville, North Carolina-native is a veteran of 244 NASCAR Cup Series starts, competing for several organizations throughout the years, like Germain Racing, Spire Motorsports, and Petty GMS Motorsports.
This season, Dillon stepped down to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series to drive for Rackley WAR, while also maintaining a part-time presence in NASCAR’s premier division with Kaulig Racing, Team AmeriVet, and Richard Childress Racing.
Dillon’s record at NASCAR’s top level includes a pair of top-five results, both at superspeedways, as well as seven top-10s, most recently at Bristol (Dirt) in 2022, finishing 10th for Petty GMS Motorsports.
“I am incredibly grateful for another opportunity to run full-time in the Cup Series, and to be able to do it with the men and women at Kaulig Racing means a lot to me personally,” said Dillon. “They gave me a chance this year to go out and prove myself in a handful of starts. The team and I were able to connect early on and we put together a few strong runs in the No. 16. I’m really looking forward to what 2025 brings with this team. We have a bright future ahead of us and we’re going to give it our all each and every race next season.”
Dillon is currently running part-time for Kaulig Racing, and will contest his final start of the season on Sunday at Kansas Speedway. In four starts, Dillon has earned a pair of top-20s.
“Ty has done a really great job for us this year in our No. 16 car, competing in a limited schedule,” said team owner, Matt Kaulig. “He has been consistent each time he gets in the car and has really helped our program grow this season. We think he will be instrumental in continuing our Cup program in alliance with Richard Childress Racing.”
Additional announcements regarding partnerships for Ty Dillon and the No. 10 Chevrolet Camaro in 2025 will be made at a later date.
Daniel Hemric, the current driver of the No. 31 Chevrolet Camaro, released a statement on social media Saturday confirming that he will not return to Kaulig Racing in 2025.
