Everyone expected winter weather to wreak havoc on the race weekend schedule for this weekend’s Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. The first domino fell on Thursday as NASCAR officially announced the postponement of Saturday’s on-track activity at the 0.250-mile short track due to the threat of weather that’s expected to impact the Winston-Salem area.

The Cook Out Madhouse Classic, featuring events with NASCAR Weekly Series’ Modified and Sportsman divisions, originally scheduled for Saturday, January 31, will be rescheduled with a future date to be announced later.

NASCAR says, as of now, the Cook Out Clash remains a go for Sunday evening at Bowman Gray Stadium, and Friday’s The Clash Preview event at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds Event Center remains unchanged as well. The Clash Preview event is scheduled to take place from 10 AM ET to 2 PM ET at the Fairgrounds.

That event is designed to give fans access to NASCAR Cup Series cars, drivers, and live entertainment in the lead-up to Sunday’s Cook Out Clash.

According to a press release from NASCAR, practice and qualifying are scheduled from 2 PM ET to 4 PM ET on Sunday, February 1, with FS2 set to provide television coverage of those sessions. The Clash Last Chance Qualifier Race is scheduled for 6 PM ET on FOX, and the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray remains scheduled for 8 PM ET on FOX.

While Sunday’s Cook Out Clash remains set for Sunday, NASCAR notes that it is working closely with the City of Winston-Salem to monitor expected winter weather. Depending on how severe the storms are on Saturday, additional modifications to the race schedule could be made.

NASCAR has created a website for fans with tickets, which will provide weather updates as well as information for ticketholders regarding the Cook Out Clash.

Chase Elliott is the defending winner of the Cook Out Clash, which was held at Bowman Gray Stadium for the first time in 2025 after a three-year stint at the LA Memorial Coliseum.
