Incoming NASCAR broadcast partner, The CW, is joining forces with Joe Gibbs Racing for a two-race sponsorship program this season, split between the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series.

The CW Sports brand will first partner with Sheldon Creed, adorning the No. 18 Toyota GR Supra in Saturday’s Xfinity Series event at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Then, the following weekend, Ty Gibbs will have the brand on his No. 54 Toyota Camry XSE in the NASCAR Cup Series at Watkins Glen International (September 15).

“We’re honored to help usher in a new era of the Xfinity Series with The CW,” said Steve de Souza, Executive Vice President of Xfinity Series and Development for JGR. “We’re looking forward to assisting our great fanbase in making the transition to our new partners at The CW. There’s no shortage of compelling storylines and great racing in our series and we’re all looking forward to the enthusiastic and dedicated coverage that our new partners will bring to every race.”

In July 2023, NASCAR and The CW announced the reaching of a seven-year broadcast rights agreement, which would see every single NASCAR Xfinity Series event shown on the channel through the 2031 season.

However, in April, NASCAR confirmed that the CW would get an early start on its Xfinity Series coverage, broadcasting the final eight events of the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign on the network, beginning with the regular season finale at Bristol.

Both Sheldon Creed and Ty Gibbs are on the precipice of recording their first victories in each series. Creed has scored a record-breaking 11 runner-up finishes in his three seasons as a series regular, while Ty Gibbs, in similar fashion, has seven top-fives in the NASCAR Cup Series.

After last weekend’s regular-season finale at Darlington Raceway, Ty Gibbs officially locked himself into the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, his maiden post-season berth.
